Stream from PS5 or Xbox to Twitch with overlays – no PC needed
The console's Twitch feature cannot show overlays. With Vidari Cloud, the console sends through Vidari, and the server lays alerts, logo and chat over the picture – no capture card and no OBS.

What you need
- A PS5 or Xbox that can stream through its Twitch feature.
- A Twitch account connected to Vidari, and Vidari Ultimate.
- Access to the console's network settings.
Step by step
Enable console streaming
Sign in to the Vidari dashboard and open “Vidari Cloud”. In the module for streaming from a console, grant the additional Twitch permission once (“enable console streaming”).
Build a console scene
Build a scene in the studio with your overlays, logo and text, and select it as the console scene.
Look up the DNS address
The DNS IP for your console is shown in Vidari Cloud under “Console (PS5/Xbox)”.
Enter the DNS on a PS5
Settings → Network → Settings → Set Up Internet Connection. Highlight your connection, press the OPTIONS button → Advanced Settings → DNS Settings: “Manual” → Primary DNS: Vidari's address. Save.
Or: enter the DNS on an Xbox
Settings → General → Network settings → Advanced settings → DNS settings → Manual → IPv4 → Primary DNS: Vidari's address.
Start the stream
Start streaming as usual through the console's Twitch feature. Vidari detects the signal, lays your scene on top and goes live on your channel automatically – no browser needs to be open.
If something is wrong: the setup checker
In Vidari Cloud, the console checker shows stage by stage how far your signal gets: ingest, stream key, destination, auto-live. Reload the page while the console is sending – the first red line is the cause.
Common stumbling blocks
- A typo in the DNS entry: the console then cannot reach Vidari. Check the address digit by digit.
- IPv6 on your home network: if the checker shows the signal is not reaching Vidari, look at the IPv6 settings of your router and console.
- A firewall or router blocking the outgoing streaming port (RTMP, port 1935).
- The console is signed in to a different Twitch account than the one connected to Vidari.
What you get on top
- If the console signal drops, the server cuts to the fallback scene instead of going offline.
- With the panic button – on your phone, a Stream Deck key or !panic – you cut away instantly and mute the audio.
- The watchdog notices a frozen console picture and warns you.
- !photo grabs a still from the running stream into chat and Discord.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a capture card to stream from a PS5 with overlays?
No, not with Vidari Cloud. The console sends through its own Twitch feature to Vidari, and the server lays the overlays on top. You need neither a capture card nor a PC running OBS.
Why do I have to change the console's DNS?
The DNS entry routes the console's stream to Vidari instead of straight to Twitch. That is the only way the server can lay scene, alerts and overlays over the picture before the stream reaches Twitch. You do not have to type in a stream key.
Does this work with an Xbox too?
Yes. On an Xbox you enter the DNS under Settings → General → Network settings → Advanced settings → DNS settings; everything else works like on a PS5.
